Oakley - Hyde Park

The Oakley-Hyde Park cluster covers the eastern suburbs within I-275 beltway. The OHP cluster has a growing list of rides, including the always popular Tour de Sunday. Most rides start in the Hyde Park, Oakley and Maderia areas and we are often seen riding in the city, the hills of Indian Hills, down into Kentucky and out past the I-275 beltway. Below are our weekly rides:

The purpose of this ride is to introduce and teach new riders the fundamentals of cycling. This is also a good casual ride for anyone just looking to stretch their legs or tour the city. Throughout the cycling season, we will be teaching different elements of cycling, such as how to ride on city streets, shifting, hill climbing, group cycling etiquette, riding in pace lines, etc. The typical distance of this ride will be approximately 12 miles, however we may alter the route based on the skill being taught during a given week. We may also lengthen the ride throughout the season as rider skills and endurance increase. This ride only operates between April and September.

Tour de Sunday

This is one of the more popular and well attended rides. It’s a different route each week in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky. We like scenic roads and riding in new areas. The rides are posted on the Cincinnati Ride Line email list, usually on Thursdays. We ride most every Sunday on various routes, and we use this tdsride site to plan the rides.
When: Sundays– Time varies by season
Where: Varies
Length: 25 to 50+
Speed: Two speed groups – Our regular speed group: Flat road speeds are typically around 16-17 mph, and stop lights and hills make the average speed about 14 mph. We typically don’t do much drafting or tightly spaced riding.
We always regroup at the top (and the bottom!) of the hills.
There will be a faster speed group averaging near 15 mph, with flat road speeds around 17-18 mph or so. This is also no-drop.
DIFFICULTY RATING: Intermediate
