NO RIDE THIS WEEK 10/2.
On Wednesday 10/9 we start the Madville Winter Ride format. We will do the Madville route clockwise.
The Madville winter ride follows the same route each week. We swap directions weekly. Front and rear lights will be required. As well as your helmet. This tends to be a gentler ride since it’s dark. And mostly flat. It’s a fun ride. The ride will continue through the winter, weather permitting. I’ll post a Ride with GPS file for next week’s ride.
Then on October 16th we will join the Queen City Bike Blink Bright Ride. Plan your light-up decorations now. More details to come.

Ludlow Vets Hall on Rt. 8
Please park near the street, the rest is for lodge members.
This is an out and back ride with no turns on a lightly traveled road starting at Ludlow Vets. Riders can go at their own pace and usually split into smaller groups. It is 14 miles to the end, but you can turn around early if you want to do less miles. The intermediate group is done for the year. The fast group will continue through October. Expect average speeds of 18-21.
Ride departs from Kugler Mill-Camp Road Athletic fields (parking lot at the bottom of Kugler Mill Rd. near the bike trail).
Evening Ride from Monroe Community Park with rural routes going through Liberty Township and Middletown. The primary group is a B pace (16.5 mph - 18 mph average). We will have multiple speed groups when there are enough riders and leaders available. Departure time is 6:00 pm and the length of the ride will depend on the weather and daylight.
Meet/park at parking lot at Elda Elementary School
Routes will vary each week, but will always include at least one significant climb, so be prepared. Routes use the lightly traveled roads of western Hamilton County and Butler County.
South Lebanon, Gravel Lot, next to Baseball Fields
This is one of Warren County‘s weekly rides. We typically have two or three groups with about 4-10 riders, each. A typical average speed for the slowest group is 15 -16 mph and for fastest group is 17 - 19 mph. We usually head north to the hilly Oregonia, and Caesars Creek so expect some climbing. Depending on the amount of daylight we usually do about 30 miles, at the beginning and at the end of the season, and up to 50 miles in the peak of the season. All groups are No Drop rides. The route is usually sent out on the day of a ride. We regroup every few miles to make sure that the group stays together. Please let the group ride leader know if you are planning to separate from your group, otherwise he/she might start looking for you.
St. Margaret/St. John Church
The Madville Winter Night Ride format has started. It‘s time to break out or buy your winter ride gear for the cooler temperatures. Wednesday‘s temperature will be warmer than usual for this time of year so come on out.
This week we ride counter clockwise - that‘s Norwood first.
The ride is the same route, reversing direction each week. Weather permitting it continues all through the winter months each Wednesday night. This is a single speed group ride. We always wait at logical intersections for riders to regroup. It’s a no drop ride. Average speeds will vary between 14-16 MPH. Expect flat road speeds to exceed 20+ at times. I’ll be asking for CCC Ride Waiver to be signed. Headlights, taillights and helmets are required. Lighting is critical because we will be riding in the dark.
If you ride ahead of the group then you’re on your own. Please arrive early. We will do our best to observe all established traffic regulations and ride safely. We regroup at strategic spots as needed. Potential wet weather or wet roads will cancel the ride. Parking in the church lot is permitted. We start and return to the church parking lot.
Intermediate ride: see email for this week‘s route
