Ride Description: The summer solstice ride is an annual tradition to ride 50 flat miles on the longest day of the year. Please make sure you bring at least 2 water bottles.
Speed Group and Ride Leader Announcements at 6:10 and roll by 6:15 PM
Departure Group Rides of various paces to be led by one or two Ride Leader volunteers and sweep volunteer (if available).
Routes change every two weeks. Be predictable and ride as a group.
First TNN of the year. Will organize groups based on attendance and who can lead.
We traditionally have fewer and combined groups the first couple weeks
A group - 20+ mph avg - led by Andrew Clousson
B+ group - 19-20 mph avg., 19-23 on flats led by Fred Ferguson
B group - 17-19 mph avg., 19-22 on flats led by Martin
C+ group - 16-17 mph avg., 18-21 on flats led by Jeff Bullock
C group - 15-16 mph avg., 17-20 on flats led by TBD
D group - 13-14 mph avg led by Joe Schweickart or John (slower than 14 uphill and faster downhill and on flats)
Group Rides of various paces to be led by one or two Ride Leader volunteers and sweep volunteer (if available). These rides are no drop, but riders can drop back to a following group. Please notify Ride Leader if you intend to drop back. Riders are otherwise responsible for staying with their group and watching out for others in their group.
Note: More groups will be created depending on group size These speeds are overall average for the rides. Speeds on flats are usually 3-4 mph faster. For example the 17mph group will draft at 19-21 on flats. Rain at the start or wet roads will cancel this ride.
