Madville Winter Night Ride @6:30pm Fairfax
About this event
The Madville Winter Ride format has started. The weather continues to be perfect for riding.
Expect about 30 miles and around 1,000 feet of climbing. Clockwise, downtown first. As we ride in the dark the pace tends to be a bit slower. We will do a route close to our original Madville route. Except no footbridge over I75 and we will be crossing the Licking River using the 11th Street bridge. Maybe we'll see some Halloween decorations on Fairpark Avenue.
The route is the same each week, reversing direction each week. Weather permitting it continues all through the winter months each Wednesday night. This is a single speed group ride. There are no sub-groups. We always wait at logical intersections for riders to regroup. It’s a no drop ride. Average speeds will vary between 14-16 MPH. Flat road speeds may exceed 20 MPH at times. Headlights, taillights and helmets are required. Lighting is critical because we will be riding in the dark. If you ride ahead of the group then you're on your own.
Please arrive a few minutes early. We will do our best to observe all established traffic regulations including stop signs and traffic lights. You are expected to ride safely, responsibly and predictability. Potential wet weather or wet roads will cancel the ride. Parking in the church lot is permitted.
