All other costs are the responsibility of the individual. The $15 camping fee can be paid on-line via PayPal (Send to a Friend) to rdkissinger@cinci.rr.com. Ride Description: The purpose of this event is to introduce touring cyclists to a full week of bicycle touring and camping. The Katy Trail is a 237 mile trail stretching across most of the state of Missouri.  Over half the trail's length follows Lewis and Clark's path along the Missouri River, where you can ride beneath towering river bluffs while eagles circle overhead. The rest of the trail meanders through peaceful farmland and small-town Americana. Since the trail uses the old MKT railroad line, it is mostly flat. Experienced tour leaders will share their knowledge about bike touring throughout the trip. You must register for this event, so please register early and pay the non-refundable camping fee if you want to attend. Registration is limited to 12 campers on a first-paid, first-reserved basis, provided you are able to make reservations at certain campsites (see Campsite Information below).

Mandatory Equipment: All cyclists must wear helmets while riding.

Ride Itinerary: The route and basic information for each day is as follows.

Sunday, 9/11 - Drive to St. Charles (carpool if possible). Cyclists are responsible for making Sunday night hotel reservations. Country Inn & Suites (1190 Main St., St. Charles MO) is right across the road from the Katy Trail parking lot where the shuttle van will pick us up on Monday morning.

Monday, 9/12 - Leave cars at Katy Trail parking lot or at hotel (if allowed), and take 8am shuttle van to Clinton MO, arriving around noon. Cyclists are responsible for equalling splitting the shuttle fee (~$83 per person for group of six; ~$67 for group of twelve). Eat lunch, then cycle 36 miles to the MO State Fair campground in Sedalia. Cook dinner or eat at a local restaurant.

Tuesday, 9/13 - Cycle 41 miles to Katy Roundhouse in New Franklin. Cook dinner or eat at a local restaurant (~3 miles to nearest restaurant).

Wednesday, 9/14 - Cycle 26 miles to Cooper’s Landing Campground in Easley. No restaurant nearby; plan on cooking dinner.
